“Escala STI” replaced the scattered controls behind the IT department’s schedule — an outdated Excel roster plus separate records of leave and absences — with a Power Apps calendar I built on my own initiative. Technicians and supervisors filter by date and team to see who works when and how (on-site, remote or external support), with notes on each day and holidays, leave and time in lieu kept in one place.

Power Automate syncs each technician’s on-site days to their Microsoft Teams calendar and sends reminders before weekend and holiday shifts. To get past Power Apps’ record-retrieval limit, each day’s roster is stored as a single JSON record per team — which kept the app fast as the history grew.
