Bruno Matias

Sydney, Australia

I learn how the work is done, then build the tool that takes out the repetitive part.

Nearly seven years in public-sector IT in Brazil, now in Sydney: portals, Power Apps, browser extensions and ERP add-ons, built on the systems a team already uses.

Tools people actually use, years after launch.

01.01 Chrome extension · ERP · Manufacturing

Adaptive Odoo Addons

Shop-floor screens built inside a manufacturer’s Odoo ERP: queues per machine with drag-and-drop, completion history, an assembly board, shared client colours, quick search and CNC statistics. Built on my own initiative while working part-time on the floor.

01.02 Web portal · Automation

IT Service Portal

A real-time operations hub for the service team: live call monitor, queue order, call history, daily timeline, offline reports, file library and ticket templates. Built on my own initiative and still part of the team’s daily work.

01.03 Chrome extension · Automation

Helpdesk Automation Extension

Turned multi-step iTop ticket flows into one click, added a telephony screen-pop and reusable templates — guaranteeing that every helpdesk call gets registered.

02 About

About Bruno

Hi, I’m Bruno. I spent nearly seven years in IT at a state Public Prosecutor’s Office in Brazil — fixing machines, answering calls, then building the tools the teams ran on. Now I’m doing the same in Sydney.

What I Do

  1. 01

    Paper to App

Inspection forms on paper, a roster in Excel, assessments in Word macros: I rebuild them as guided apps with the rules built in.

  2. 02

    One Screen, Not Five

When a team checks several tools to answer one question, I build the view that brings it together — a live service monitor, a machine queue.

  3. 03

    Automated Handoffs

Approvals, reminders, ticket creation, document generation: the steps people repeat every day, done by the system.

  4. 04

    Extend What’s There

Odoo, iTop, SharePoint, Teams, SQL Server — I build on the systems a business already runs, through APIs, RPC and browser extensions.

  5. 05

    Traceable by Default

Every record says who did what and when: change history, status per step, who cut or assembled each job.

  6. 06

    Built to Be Adopted

Manuals, live training and support are part of the delivery — several of these tools are still in daily use years later.

03 Experience

From the maintenance bench to the tools teams run on.

Machine Operator (Part-time)

Adaptive Joinery, Sydney · ABN contractor

Part-time role on the factory floor that supports my master’s studies. Working with the machines every day, I saw where the company’s Odoo 19 Enterprise fell short for production — so on my own initiative I built Adaptive Odoo Addons, a Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store that gives the shop floor views tailored to how it actually works.

  • Queues per machine for CNC cutting, edge banding and assembly, with drag-and-drop reordering and transfer between machines
  • Completion history showing who cut, edged and assembled each job
  • Project colours by client, shared across the team, and a quick search always in the navbar
  • Statistics panel: sheets cut per machine and per day, with a daily timeline per machine

Power Platform Developer

Plansul, placed at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais (MPMG)

Member of a small agile-solutions squad taking requests from departments across the institution — medical, finance, IT. I owned the full cycle: sitting with the area to map the current process, its rules and exceptions, then UX, build, user testing, deployment, manuals, training and support.

  • 10+ apps and flows in Power Apps (Canvas and model-driven) and Power Automate (cloud and desktop)
  • Integrations with Dataverse, SharePoint, Teams, custom connectors and REST APIs
  • MVPs delivered in under a week, from medical disability assessments to statewide travel reimbursements

Aug 2019 — Dec 2022

IT Support Analyst & Web Developer

Plansul, placed at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais (MPMG)

First-level and application support for 3,500+ internal users (prosecutors and staff) on the Directorate of Core Systems team, plus the tooling the team runs on.

  • Built the IT Service Portal: live call monitor, queue order, call history and reports — still in daily use
  • Built a helpdesk Chrome extension with telephony screen-pop and one-click iTop ticket flows
  • Ticket handling in iTop, internal system testing, user manuals and live training
  • Daily contact with users across the state showed me how each area worked, not just where systems broke — that’s where my first tools came from

May 2018 — Jul 2019

IT Support & Operations Intern

Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais (MPMG)

Preventive maintenance and diagnostics for 4,000+ devices across 855 prosecutors’ offices in 296 districts.

  • Promoted within two months to the IT administration team: ticket triage, service quality, KPI dashboards, reports and audits — and reworked report generation that relied on manual work
  • Reorganised the workbench and how procedures were recorded, then built a digital checklist linking each inspection to the device and technician, replacing paper forms

2013 — 2014

Mechanical Design & Web Systems Developer

Matrimec Mechanical Industry

3D models and technical drawings for CNC machining in SolidWorks. Built the company website and an internal system for projects, suppliers and per-project cost and profit (PHP, JavaScript, MySQL).
